Application of Ring-type Sensors in Lifting Machinery

China is known as a "construction maniac." Lifting machinery plays a crucial role in the construction industry. Lifting machinery is mainly divided into light and small lifting equipment, bridge-type (bridge, gantry cranes), boom-type (self-propelled, tower, gantry, railway, floating, mast cranes), and cable cranes. Lifting machinery lifts or lifts and moves heavy objects through lifting hooks or other lifting devices. The working process of lifting machinery generally includes lifting, running, lowering, and returning to the original position.

 



Lifting machinery includes a drive device and a weighing device. The drive device is a power device used to drive the working mechanism. The weighing device enables the lifting machinery to weigh the hoisted materials while operating. With the advancement of digital technology, especially electronic weighing technology, it has promoted the mechanization, automation, integration, and intelligence of lifting machinery. Weighing devices on lifting machinery are usually divided into two categories according to their functions: electronic crane scales and special weighing devices. Special weighing devices mainly refer to overload limiters. GB6067-85 The "Safety Regulations for Lifting Machinery" stipulates that: 20t bridge cranes larger than 10t and gantry cranes larger than should be equipped with overload limiters; other tonnage bridge and gantry cranes, as well as electric hoist single or double-beam cranes, should be equipped with overload limiters. The core component of the weighing device is the load cell.

Load cells are widely used in lifting equipment , Mainly used in the manufacturing of lifting electronic scales, overload limiters, and torque limiters.

Several types of sensors are mainly used in the weighing system, including pin-type, fish-back type, ring-type, side-pressure type, and bearing seat type. Because the system error requirement does not exceed ± 5% , the accuracy requirement for the sensor is not high, generally meeting 0.1%-0.5% is sufficient. However, the safety, long-term stability, and overload capacity of the sensor must be given great importance.

Ring-type Sensor

Working principle of ring-type tensile sensor: The elastic body (elastic element, sensitive beam) under external force produces elastic deformation , causing the strain gauges pasted on its surface to deform as well. After the strain gauge deforms, its resistance value will change (increase or decrease). Then, the corresponding measuring circuit converts this resistance change into an electrical signal ( voltage or current ), thus completing the process of converting external force into an electrical signal. The advantages of ring-type tensile sensors are large range , simple structure, easy to use, good frequency response characteristics, and can work under harsh conditions Therefore, it is widely used in the lifting and hoisting industry
