1. Strategy is what we do now for the future. The biggest taboo in making strategic decisions is trying to cover everything. We must remember to focus on breakthroughs. Only by concentrating all resources on one breakthrough is there a chance of winning. Pay attention to and grasp changes, and see the essence through the phenomenon.
Lack of strategic thinking is one of the root causes of the short lifespan of Chinese enterprises. Strategic thinking essentially means choosing what not to do. Strategic thinking not only solves the company's current problems but also solves the choice problems brought about by the company's goals. Strategy is not a goal but a method, a series of decisions and action plans to achieve the company's mission and goals.
2. There are three reasons why an excellent company goes bankrupt:
2.1 The company loses touch with its users
2.2 Users lose touch with the company
2.3 Both happen simultaneously
3. On the road to success, if you don't have the patience to face hardships and setbacks, then you will have to spend a lifetime facing failure. Let's see if we have such qualities, such as calmness, patience, humility, perseverance, and insight. If not, then what right do we have to be impetuous?
4. Good products don't necessarily have a good reputation, cheap products don't necessarily have a good reputation, and good and cheap products don't necessarily have a good reputation. Only one thing has a good reputation: exceeding user expectations. Only by exceeding expectations can you have a good reputation.
5. Reduce meeting cost waste. Hold short meetings, speak briefly, and solve substantive problems. Don't hold meetings when there's nothing to do; don't hold meetings for small matters. The meaning of a meeting lies in how it's held! First, there should be fewer meetings; second, meetings should be concise; third, meetings should be practical. Mastering these three points will make meetings meaningful and valuable. As the saying goes: Without rules, nothing can be accomplished. Meetings are a formal rule in work; they can play a role in publicity, mobilization, warning education, and promoting implementation, and are an effective work method that cannot be replaced by other work methods.
Meetings must have conclusions, and meeting costs must be calculated. (From "The Path of the Sun and Moon", Volume 2, page 220, "The Sun and Moon Meeting Cost Analysis System").
6. For the continued development of Sun and Moon, we must establish an excellent fighting team, just like the Red Army, the Eighth Route Army, and the People's Liberation Army. Loyalty is more important than ability! Veteran employees are the pillars of the Sun and Moon building. The Sun and Moon culture, spirit, and values must be passed down by them! Let veteran employees feel a sense of belonging and pride in Sun and Moon! Of course, veteran employees must take the lead in striving! A happy life is achieved through hard work, and high wages are earned through hard work!
7. Persevere in innovation, persevere in imitation and surpassing. First find a role model, imitate and learn, then subvert and surpass. Only those who are different can rise to the top, and innovation is a unique flower that blooms on the basis of imitation.
8. Eight or nine out of ten things in life don't go as planned. Everyone may suffer setbacks and frustrations, but we must forget past failures, always think of the one or two successes, not the eight or nine failures. Forgetting the past allows us to move forward, just like a farmer plowing a field cannot always look back, because people's attention and energy are limited. Persisting in the face of difficulties, an optimistic attitude is the most powerful support. Tell yourself, things are not so bad right now!
If a person often feels sad about past failures, they will develop a habit of sadness, emotional fragility, and depression, easily becoming a pessimistic person, seeing everything in gray.
Always think of the one or two successes, not the eight or nine failures, forget your past failures! This is worth reciting aloud! You don't gain wisdom without experiencing something, we must keep moving forward!
9. New employees' goals should absolutely not be focused on making money. First, they should seriously learn and strive for credibility, laying a solid foundation for learning in the long run and establishing a reputation for hard work regardless of compensation. This is more important than anything else!
Everything can be relied on people, but only knowledge must be learned by oneself, and credibility must be earned through one's own efforts. With these two, making money will not be difficult, and choosing a good job will also be easy.
10. It is even more important to retain the truly needed talents through differentiated performance incentives.
11. We must correctly view merit and put our personal position in the right place. We cannot always claim credit and avoid blame. We must speak the truth, not save face. Individuals do have a role, but we should not overestimate ourselves. Anyone who leaves the Sun and Moon platform will achieve nothing. It will be like Zhang Guotao leaving the Red Army! Even his guards wouldn't follow him. Some people overestimate themselves, thinking they can command everyone and incite employees to strike, but in the end, they only end up disgraced and failing.
12. A blacksmith needs a strong body, this is the truth! We cannot blindly worship social relationships. Social relationships are important, but we must maintain a certain distance. Relationships can promote productivity, but relationships are not equal to productivity. Treating social relationships as a panacea for solving all problems in the development of an enterprise is putting the cart before the horse, and disaster will eventually come!
13. We must cherish the talents around us, not blindly believe in distant masters, not believe that outside monks can chant sutras better. The correct approach should be: we cannot not use parachuters, we cannot use parachuters indiscriminately, and we cannot use only parachuters.
14. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth. If we are wrong, we should correct it; face should not be more important than truth.
15. The business world is ruthless, fickle, who will protect you? Only yourself!
16. We cannot see others as eloquent and ourselves as confused. A successful history, a mind full of unclear accounts, what to persist in? What to improve? How to innovate? How to maintain?
17. Rules and plans cannot be ever-changing, established today, changed tomorrow, and changed again the day after. Subordinates will be at a loss. Many systems cannot be thoroughly implemented because of the leader's own inconsistency. Leaders are the first driving force and the first obstacle to the implementation of corporate systems! If you want to enforce rules on others, you must first enforce them on yourself.
18. We cannot engage in venture capital, we cannot be quick to seek profit, we must be patient and focus on our goals.
19. We cannot engage in empirical investment, we must be pragmatic, focus on reality, and based on the specific environment at the time, know ourselves and our enemy, adapt to change, and be flexible and mobile.
20. No one is perfect, focus on the mainstream. Perfectionism is not a bad thing, but if it is magnified, pursued too deeply, and blamed too harshly, too much criticism and blame will bring endless troubles and worries to individuals and enterprises.
21. While regulations and discipline demand absolute adherence from employees, cadres often shirk their responsibilities. Cadres sternly prohibit misconduct in meetings, yet their own actions contradict these pronouncements. Why is this?
22. Unauthorized changes to work hours and attendance policies are unacceptable. Rules cannot be disregarded at will, ignoring leadership, users, plans, the overall situation, and employee feedback. Promotions and raises cannot be given to those who comply while those who voice dissent are penalized. The notion of 'my way or the highway' is unacceptable. Incompletion of plans and production tasks are often excused by claims of unprofitability. This inaction, driven by individual control and disregard for the bigger picture, becomes a stumbling block and obstacle to progress.
23. Do not reach out; if you do, you will be caught. [Company Name] is a high-tech enterprise committed to integrity. Corruption and embezzlement will not be tolerated. Employees must uphold the company culture, be selfless and honest, and adhere to ethical standards. All gifts or kickbacks must be turned over (see "The [Company Name] Path", Volume 2, pages 230 and 237). Abuse of power, oppression of employees, and acceptance of bribes are strictly prohibited!
Establish a comprehensive system to prevent well-intentioned individuals from making mistakes. Maintain a military-style work ethic, fighting spirit, and unwavering discipline.
Resolutely oppose false and empty loyalty. [Company Name] employees must be consistent in words and deeds.
False loyalty is inconsistency between words and actions on matters of principle; it is lip service without action, performance without substance.
Empty loyalty is unsubstantiated loyalty. Some employees and cadres outwardly support [Company Name] but their loyalty falters when their self-interest is involved or opportunities for personal gain arise. Their support is impure and incomplete, lacking practical action. Others, while not violating regulations, rarely contribute positive energy to [Company Name] and remain indifferent to, or even condone, actions that damage the company. If left unchecked, these individuals could become detrimental to [Company Name], spreading their influence and causing significant harm.
24. Taking credit for successes while shifting blame for failures is a form of corruption that must be eliminated. When problems arise, responsibility is avoided with the phrase, "General Manager Chen in Bengbu knows." Failure to meet production targets is similarly deflected. This self-serving attitude, where individuals always believe themselves to be correct, is a new form of corruption within [Company Name] and must be eradicated.
25. [Company Name]'s growth has been challenging. We are now at a critical juncture and must maintain confidence in our path, systems, and culture. We must maintain strategic focus and self-belief, focusing on our tasks and roles.
If outsiders misunderstand [Company Name], it is the responsibility of [Company Name] employees to clarify the situation.
26. Exaggeration is harmful, both to nations and businesses. Many entrepreneurs boast excessively, and so-called business summits often become platforms for self-promotion. Claims of rapid growth and exceptional progress, along with self-aggrandizement, lead to self-satisfaction and ultimately failure. Many well-known companies have fallen victim to this. We must remain grounded in reality, avoiding exaggeration and unwarranted praise.
27. Some leaders are accustomed to showing off their authority, emphasizing procedures and hierarchy, but lack learning ability and a service-oriented mindset. This leads to a loss of competitiveness.
28. Management should be understood as: 'managing' is control, 'leading' is training; 'managing' is pressure, 'leading' is guidance; 'managing' is adherence to rules, 'leading' is nurturing growth. Without leadership, a company will either perish silently or explode in silence.
29. When faced with difficulties, instead of thoroughly analyzing the problem, some change direction, like a sensitive plant recoiling at the slightest touch. This seemingly cautious approach often leads to missed opportunities due to a lack of perseverance.
30. Over-reliance on monetary incentives is detrimental. While the intention may be to create a structured system, fully monetizing incentives—paying for overtime, suggestions, assistance, and cost savings—can lead to employees expecting payment for all tasks, even those within their job description.
31. Strengthen brand building, system development, and human resource development. We need to rally the troops, bringing together our strongest forces to form task forces and special units.
32. Master the small techniques, establish the grand principles.
Entrepreneurs must possess two key abilities: the skills to navigate complex situations (small techniques) and the vision and charisma to build a strong organization and attract talent (grand principles). Without the grand principles, a company may achieve short-term gains but ultimately lose its foundation.
The principle of mastering small techniques and establishing grand principles serves as the guiding principle for [Company Name]'s strategic decision-making. Please deeply understand this.
