Reflections on the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the Sun and Moon Group

　　Time flows quietly, while the tide of the times surges. Following the will of Heaven, China welcomes a glorious era; winning the hearts of the people, China prospers and strengthens. Bearing the rain and dew of the vast and boundless world, and the brilliance of Bangbu Sun and Moon! Riding the express train of the times, we have swiftly passed through 30 years of Sun and Moon! On the joyous occasion of the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in 2018, we welcome the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Bangbu Sun and Moon Instrument Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sun and Moon). How can we forget? How can we not cherish the memory? A history of arduous entrepreneurship, the people of Sun and Moon who have turned the tide, we have shared joys and sorrows, we have breathed together, we have embraced laughter and tears, and we have swallowed our grievances! We have shared the same bitterness and the same glory! Recalling the past fifteen years of cooperation, I am filled with emotion...

　　Sincere efforts yield fruitful results

　　In May 2004, with sincere thoughts and wishes, I came to Sun and Moon seeking cooperation. The founder of Sun and Moon, the old director Chen Mingye, did not give up on me because I had neither funds nor personnel. Instead, he gave me 11,000 yuan to go to Beijing to handle the "network access certificate," without even requiring a promissory note. Overwhelmed with emotion, I worked overnight to complete the process in two days, and sent a telegram back to Sun and Moon in Bangbu, marking the beginning of our cooperation!

　　Sincerity and trustworthiness, wholehearted cooperation

　　Sun and Moon is the company I have collaborated with for the longest time. For fifteen years, I have trusted them, and I like their culture and business philosophy. We trust each other, and in the years following the initial cooperation agreement, we have focused our energy and time on other aspects. Whether it's tens of thousands or millions of economic contracts, they have all been fulfilled based on trust.

　　Respect for knowledge, appreciation of talent

　　Being respected and appreciated is a source of happiness, and it is also a strong motivator for market expansion and potential development. My cooperation with Sun and Moon is a successful achievement in my career. Choosing them has allowed my life to shine with the brilliance of Sun and Moon, and has filled my blood with the energy of a warrior. When Sun and Moon called to say that the Henan market was a remote market that needed to be developed, I went to Puyang without hesitation. Even with the "network access certificate" no longer issued and the market saturated with manufacturers, together with Yi Yi, the business director of Sun and Moon, we actively sought ways, created opportunities, and overcame numerous difficulties, finally securing the market and signing orders within just three days. Looking back, the sense of accomplishment in turning the impossible into possible is truly remarkable.

　　Resounding success, perfect quality

　　Before Sun and Moon entered the market, the Jilin Oilfield market had been monopolized for many years by several large enterprises and national petroleum companies, including Beijing Jinshi, Jinggangshan, Hubei Jingzhou Mingde, and Xi'an Stan. These companies, protected by several oilfield directors, were deeply rooted in the Jilin Oilfield. Therefore, without superior product quality and solid market development efforts, it would be impossible to displace state-owned enterprises.

　　According to the oilfield's product entry process, product testing is required first. Sun and Moon's product testing was very successful, but due to sales issues, it was not selected. It was under these circumstances that I took over the baton from the previous salesperson, Zhu Yuquan. When I met Pang Yanjun, the head of the oil extraction plant, he sincerely and helplessly said, "I have checked with the geological research institute, your products are many times better than the instruments we are using. I really hope they can enter the Jilin Oilfield! You should go to the relevant departments in the bureau." I said, "Give me a certificate..." When the oilfield development leaders saw the product indicators, they couldn't believe they were so good, so they specially sent Director Ma to conduct on-site testing. The results were predictable! This is the quality of Sun and Moon's products, the products that defeated other factories and shared the glory with Sun and Moon!

　　When the Jilin Oilfield started using Sun and Moon's products, with advanced indicators such as "-40℃ low temperature and unlimited storage by the industrial control computer," other manufacturers with indicators such as "-15℃ fuzzy, -20℃ no characters, and chip storage" began to imitate and learn. Two years later, they made a comeback, demanding public testing and on-site comparison. The Jilin Oilfield organized 120 liquid level tests and 80 work diagram tests over two months, with seven participating manufacturers present to compete. Under the trust and appreciation of the expert judges, and amidst the dissatisfaction and envy of other manufacturers, Sun and Moon's products once again won first place.

　　In 2007, Jilin Oilfield organized a bidding for "screw pump testers." At that time, three major oilfield companies—Daqing Oilfield Research Institute, North China Oilfield Research Institute, and Hubei Jingzhou Mingde Instrument Factory—competed with our company, Riyue. The other three were well-known oilfield research institutions, making it a significant competition of professional technology. The importance of this event is self-evident! Riyue attached great importance to this, specially inviting a petroleum engineering major from Petroleum University (Han Lin). Riyue's technical director and key business personnel were present. I still remember this competition vividly! Regrettably and embarrassingly, after seeing the qualifications of the other bidding units and Riyue, Han Lin left quietly before others woke up in the morning, without saying goodbye! The blow to us was indescribable. After a one-hour phone call between the technical director and Riyue's main leaders, the basic principles of Riyue's bidding were conveyed: focusing on Riyue's own technical characteristics as the bidding theme, relying on the publicity advantages of the Jilin office, and striving for success! The disheartened fighters were immediately inspired, and we sat down together to discuss strategies and methods, thinking about the problem to the extreme. In the words of that time, "we carefully scrutinized the bidding documents, understanding even the meaning between the lines!" After that, we made a PPT that wasn't required by the bidding documents, and it proved to be the most impressive point for the judges. Despite a high quotation, the lack of ISO9000 certification (we obtained it after the bid), and the lowest score in the commercial bid, under the time limit of a 15-minute product introduction, the technical director adopted the established policy—attracting the judges' interest and showcasing our product samples (we brought them even though it wasn't required). Finally, at the judges' enthusiastic request, we gave multiple product demonstrations and introductions lasting 45 minutes. Naturally, Riyue won the bid at a high price! Returning from the bid, we were speechless. When I stepped into the office, Director Yi Yi, who had gone home to pack his bags, asked me, "Is it true?" Even today, recalling this sentence brings tears to my eyes. I excitedly stammered, "It's true!" Suddenly, Xu Peng and I embraced, then Yi Yi, Qiang Huijun, and Lu Guomin joined in. Seven grown men hugged together, crying, excited, and crying again, silent for a long time!! The joy of men, the success of a career, being abandoned, the victory of a comeback... Thus, we successfully promoted another similar product—the system efficiency tester. The power of Riyue's products speaks for itself, speaks through the products, and is forged through countless hardships!

　　Standing firm against wind and snow, the people of Riyue

　　For many years, I've had this scene, this image in my mind! That is the winter of 2005, when we first did video surveillance in Jilin Oilfield (Qian'an Oil Production Plant). Faced with the problem of the slow rotation of the PTZ camera, which we couldn't solve, Master Jiang Guanghou of Riyue worked for 15 days on a 10-meter-high cement pole... A southerner, enduring the harsh winter in Northeast China is already difficult. To be in the wilderness, on a high pole for hours, in the biting wind and sharp snow, it was incredibly difficult! Without spirit, belief, and will, how could this be done!

　　Master Jiang, you've worked hard! I salute you!

　　I salute you for your contributions to Riyue, Riyue's Jilin Oilfield office, and oil extraction in Jilin Oilfield!

　　In the summer of 2006, Jilin Oilfield organized seven manufacturers for a testing bid (the bid mentioned above that others imitated). The dynamic liquid level test of 120 wells and the indicator diagram test of 80 wells took more than two months. Riyue's Master Wang Rui and oilfield testing worker Li Qingjiang lived on a single bed. During the day, they walked barefoot in the dazzling white alkaline land or mud under the scorching sun, and at night, they were bitten by mosquitoes. After being exposed to the sun during the day, their skin was painful... In the wilderness, there was no canteen, no houses, and no food... After two months, they were dark and thin, making it impossible not to feel sorry for them! Twelve years later, I can still remember his bare feet!

　　To evaluate the people of Riyue, I dare to borrow the Chairman's poem:

　　Pretty, but not vying for spring, only announcing the arrival of spring.

　　When the mountain flowers bloom, she laughs among them!

　　Thirty years of Riyue, how can you not laugh! Laugh at the world, laugh at Riyue. Facing so many people of Riyue who have struggled with their backs straight, how can you not laugh!

　　Corrections and improvements for Riyue people

　　There are outstanding achievements and painful lessons learned.

　　Protecting intellectual property rights. Looking back on Riyue's journey, there were times of isolation and impassable roads. When we dominated the market, other manufacturers were secretly plotting their comeback. After losing the market, Beijing Jinshi and Hubei Jingzhou Mingde plagiarized and imitated Riyue's technology, counterattacking the market by lowering prices to the point of no profit or even loss. At that time, we underestimated their technical level and let the wolf back into the mountain in the market competition! If we had focused on protecting intellectual property rights and not allowed them to act arbitrarily, we would not have easily lost the Jilin Oilfield market.

　　Stationing in the oilfield. Market development is always a long-term task for enterprises, and how to expand is a matter of chance. I believe that if Riyue could send technical personnel to the oilfield production front line, understand production needs face-to-face, and directly solve production technical problems, it would also expand Riyue's technical field and enrich Riyue's research experience. This is a good long-term strategy. We can learn from Xi'an Stan and Beijing Jinshi by sending people to the oilfield front line. Although we cannot send dozens of people like other manufacturers, it is still necessary to tailor the number of personnel sent.

　　Unfulfilled dreams. I have been cooperating with Riyue for fifteen years, immersed in Riyue's culture, and have always called myself a "Riyue person" in Jilin Oilfield. In fact, I have a dream, which is to transplant Riyue's culture to Jilin, tentatively called "Songyuan Riyue," and it has been approved by Chen Mingye, the founder of Riyue. Unfortunately, I cannot add luster to Riyue yet, as the conditions are not yet ripe. I hope my dream will come true soon!

　　Looking to the future, Riyue's tomorrow

　　It's best to take a long-term view, it's time to set sail. Brave Riyue people are working hard and striving. For those who have sacrificed so much, dare to change the sun and moon! Following Riyue, the belief is eternal; I am willing to grow and share the fate with Riyue. I believe that Riyue people, with their unique spiritual temperament, will integrate the realization of personal value into the needs of the enterprise, forge ahead, and create a bright future, composing a magnificent and colorful chapter!
