Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Riyue's Founding

(September 28, 2018, the 19th day of the eighth month of the dog year)

Chen Mingye

  Distinguished guests, comrades, friends:

  Today is the 30th anniversary celebration of Riyue's founding, and we are holding a celebration meeting here. We jointly witnessed the development achievements of Riyue over the past 30 years and jointly recalled the glorious journey Riyue has traveled over the past 30 years, from the Jinggangshan foothills to the Yan'an base area, then to the Northwest Slope, and then across the Yangtze River, gradually realizing the grand goal of "being based in Bengbu, developing in Nanjing, serving the whole country, and going global" (Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 11, Riyue Outline).

  Riyue Science and Technology Park, as the headquarters of Riyue Science and Technology Development Group, has laid the foundation for Riyue's sustainable development and completed ten landscapes for the historical image of Riyue's centenary plan: Riyue Science and Technology Park Square, Ri Xin Yue Yi Square, Riyue Welcome Square, Riyue Welcome Road, Riyue Building, Riyue Tianlu Fushou (Riyue Da Pixiu), Riyue Welcome Bridge, Riyue Jinshui Lake, Riyue Welcome Garden, Riyue Cultural Stone. The construction of these ten landmark landscapes has become a highlight of Bengbu City!

  Riyue Tianlu Fushou (Riyue Da Pixiu) has obtained a national appearance design patent, patent number: ZL201730005998.9 ZL201730005999.3, becoming the only heirloom treasure in China and abroad protected by patents.

  For Riyue's sustainable development, we must do the following in the future:

  1. Riyue employees should understand great morality, uphold public morality, and strictly observe private morality.

  The greatest morality in the world is loyalty. Understanding great morality means forging a firm ideal and belief, being clear-cut on major issues of right and wrong, fearless in the face of storms and tests, firm in the face of various temptations, having full faith in Riyue culture in thought, unswervingly following the Riyue path in action, consciously obeying Riyue's discipline in organization, and deeply loyal to Riyue Company in emotion;

  Upholding public morality, being honest and clean, is the basis for being a person and doing things, and the qualification for taking on leadership responsibilities;

  Strictly observing private morality means strictly restraining one's own conduct and behavior, abstaining from greed and desire, being self-disciplined and dedicated to public service, consciously purifying one's social circle, life circle, and circle of friends, ensuring that interactions have principles, boundaries, and rules, associating with virtuous people and staying away from villains, not associating with immoral, unrighteous, or shameless people, and not giving those with ulterior motives an opportunity.

  2. Riyue leaders must possess three qualities and do three things:

  2.1 The three things to do are:

  The first thing is judgment and decision-making;

  The second thing is the shaping of culture;

  The third thing is to select, cultivate, motivate, and utilize the right people.

  2.2 The three qualities are:

  Having lofty goals and striving for them;

  Having an unyielding will, able to persevere in the face of setbacks;

  Having learning ability, not just the willingness to learn but the ability to learn, to keep up with the times. Learning ability itself also includes a person's mind, emotional intelligence, etc.

  In the increasingly fierce market competition, leaders must possess comprehensive qualities to manage the overall situation in the face of the market and employees.

  Without the courage to make sacrifices, one cannot become a leader. A leader must be a selfless person who can put themselves aside and make rational judgments about things.

  The standard for a good cadre is to be both virtuous and talented. Politically reliable, competent in work, and having a strong work style, trusted by all employees.

  Becoming a good cadre depends on one's own efforts and the organization's cultivation.

  Good cadres have grown up and been cultivated, but the key is to use them. If they are not used or used improperly, it ultimately means there are still no good cadres. Employ one virtuous person, and a multitude of virtuous people will gather. Selecting and employing people is a barometer. If the leadership team, the person in charge, and the organizational department cannot tell which cadre is strong and which is weak, then that is dereliction of duty.

  Cadres, "gan" means to take the lead. They must want to work, be willing to work, and actively work, and they must also be able to work, know how to work, and be good at working. Among them, initiative is the most important.

  Being an effective leader lies in developing the talents of each person, guiding, advising, encouraging, and treating people equally, not belittling others, not losing one's temper, leading people to accomplish what ordinary people cannot, and what others cannot do, we can also do.

  3. Riyue's goals: to be based in Bengbu, develop in Nanjing, serve the whole country, go global, catch up with the world's advanced level, and stand independently in the world's scientific and technological community. To contribute to society and benefit employees (Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 11, Riyue Outline).

  Riyue employees must unite as one, work together wholeheartedly, and strive towards this goal!

  Full of hope for life, never forgetting to depict Riyue's grand goals, will surely open up the future.

  Only with a strong and persistent desire will the enthusiasm to realize that desire naturally emerge.

  To achieve a goal, the key lies in an unyielding heart. One must hold firm to one's belief, be ambitious, persevering, and work hard to the end.

  As long as you believe in your own possibilities, firmly believe that you can achieve it and continue to make efforts, no matter how difficult it is, your ideal will surely be realized.

  Some people are confused about Riyue's future and cannot see the way forward. They need light to illuminate the darkness. As long as there is the light of faith in Riyue's belief, unswervingly following the Riyue path, they will be able to continue moving forward and reach the end of success.

  Believe in your own unlimited possibilities, and constantly strive, work hard, and persevere, and you will constantly make progress.

  Working hard is a tiring thing, it requires day after day to continue, so you need to strive to love your work. People who love their work and find joy in it will be able to succeed.

  To achieve higher goals, one must possess strong will, adhere to the right path, act with sincerity, never compromise easily, and never lose one's principles. Don't follow the crowd; diligently learn true knowledge and genuine skills! A calm mind in times of peace, an unperturbed mind in times of trouble, a fearless mind in major matters, and a patient mind in minor matters.

  Be full of confidence and strive towards your goals. Regardless of success or failure, one must always persevere. Such a person will not dwell on gains and losses; what one gains or loses is private.

  4. The most fundamental mission of Riyue is to survive—to survive for a hundred years, a thousand years, ten thousand years… Survival is the most important thing. Only by surviving can you ultimately become stronger, contribute more to society, and better serve the welfare of your employees.

  The foundation of survival is to continuously improve core competitiveness, and the inevitable result of improving core competitiveness is profit and the growth of Riyue. Sufficient profits are the basic condition for the survival of an enterprise.

  5. Under no circumstances can Riyue be allowed to fail; under all circumstances, Riyue's cause must succeed. We must protect Riyue and its employees. I firmly believe that Riyue will not fail! Riyue's cause will surely succeed! Riyue's people will surely protect Riyue! Riyue will surely become self-reliant and strong! The Riyue organization will surely protect its employees!

  No matter how difficult the situation, never be pessimistic about your life or the future of Riyue. The future will be bright, and Riyue will surely grow and develop! Don't worry unnecessarily!

  Hope for the future, optimism, and proactive action are the primary conditions for improving work and life.

  No matter what difficulties you face, you must always follow the right path—the correct way of being a person—maintain a sincere attitude towards life, uphold your aspirations, believe in the Riyue culture, and follow the Riyue path without wavering.

  In the face of difficulties and adversity, do not be negative, pessimistic, or depressed. Instead, regard them as excellent opportunities to hone your will, face them head-on, and bravely challenge them. This is very important.

  Do not evaluate yourself based on your current abilities, because your abilities will continue to improve in the future. This is very important.

  Daily research and innovation, even if it's only a small step forward, will accumulate over time to achieve a significant leap and major innovation.

  Do not be greedy, do not be filled with anger, do not be full of complaints. It is important to cultivate a kind and generous heart. By living each day with contentment and gratitude, our lives can become rich and colorful, happy and fulfilling.

  Life is unpredictable. If that person hadn't been so successful back then, their life might have been better in the future; conversely, even if they encounter hardship, they can overcome difficulties and live a wonderful life.

  Whether you are fortunate or encounter disaster, it is important to remain humble and true to yourself under any circumstances.

  Remaining humble, constantly reflecting, working diligently, and living honestly—by adopting this attitude towards life, you will surely achieve a wonderful life beyond your imagination.

  No one's innate personality is perfect. One must strive to learn and master noble philosophy, repeatedly study the philosophy of the correct way of being a person, and correct the defects and distortions in one's innate personality. Reflect on your words and actions every day to see if they violate the correct way of being a person, and maintain your character at a high level.

  6. Pragmatism, refinement, efficiency, dedication, understanding, and forgiveness (Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 11; Riyue Outline). Applying the past to the present, and integrating foreign elements with Chinese elements—all decisions must conform to Riyue's current reality. Blindly following trends or blindly admiring foreign things must be avoided! Carefully summarizing Riyue's thirty-year history will be beneficial for charting the future course!

  Currently, there are more and more departments and cadres, but efficiency is decreasing, and the boss is increasingly tired. This situation must be completely reversed.

  The best management is to align the gains, losses, and interests of employees with those of the company. Managers are like salespeople, except they sell ideas instead of goods. They must make employees happily accept their ideas.

  Working diligently and earnestly can shape a person's excellent character. Those who shirk hard work cannot cultivate an excellent character.

  Life is only once. It would be a pity to live it vaguely and wastefully. How should each day be spent? Step by step, unremittingly, persistently, and striving for perfection. Only by doing so can work gradually improve, life can become increasingly perfect, and our value as human beings can be realized.

  Remember to have ambition, be indomitable, work tirelessly, and never waste a single day. Give your all every day. Today surpasses yesterday, tomorrow surpasses today, and the day after tomorrow surpasses tomorrow—continuously improving and perfecting.

  Emphasize practical work and achievements. We must assess both daily work responsibilities and performance in major, important, and difficult tasks. Adhere to the principle that those who contribute deserve positions. Highlight practice, hard work, and effectiveness. Give opportunities to those who want to work, can work, and can accomplish things. Boldly use those who are strong-willed, uphold principles, are courageous and decisive, and are not afraid of offending people. Reward and encourage employees who are firm in their stance and work diligently, and warn and punish those who are slow, inactive, or chaotic in their work.

  Strive to create a team of capable, well-trained, and completely loyal employees who are reasonable and understanding. In a good company, everyone is indispensable, but it should also be recognized that the loss of such indispensable people can be quickly compensated for, work can continue as usual, and may even be done better. The sky will not fall.

  It is not easy for people to cooperate and form a good collective. When a better team of employees works together, tasks can be completed better.

  Too many redundant employees are dangerous. People have a habit of hindering each other's work. The more redundant employees there are, the more time is spent on the mutual wrangling that hinders work.

  Time is inelastic. Everyone shares the same amount of time. Once it is gone, it can never be recovered. The key is to arrange various tasks better within the very limited time, which will lead to greater achievements.

  7. Love your family and employees; loving them will inspire their energy. Nothing motivates employees and improves work efficiency more than caring for and loving them! Care for your employees, and they will care for the company a hundredfold. Good people are rewarded with good fortune. A heart and actions full of care benefit others and make you a better person!

  Give veterans honor and benefits, and give newcomers incentives and opportunities. Let veterans maintain stability, and let newcomers innovate, forming a complementary and highly effective talent team to ensure the company's sustainable development.

  Veteran employees are the company's valuable assets, and new employees are its future. New employees should respect veteran employees and learn humbly from them. Veteran employees should care for and mentor new employees, ensuring the company's continuity and sustainable development.

  8. Cultural cultivation should be a daily practice. Integrate company culture into every employee's work philosophy and daily behavior. Company culture is the company spirit, and the company spirit is the company's soul. If this soul remains strong and vibrant, the company will endure.

  Company culture is the philosophy and behavioral norms necessary for providing the best service to users. This is the vitality of the company culture. The company must adapt to the market to survive, and employees must adapt to the company culture to survive.

  9. Employee compensation must be performance-based, giving every employee a chance to excel.

  Streamline the organization and reduce redundancy. Employing fewer, highly skilled, and well-paid individuals is far better than employing many low-paid and underperforming individuals.

  Don't tolerate lazy employees; even one can have dire consequences, hindering the productivity of others. If you can't turn lazy employees into diligent ones, at least make them uncomfortable with their laziness.

  10. Never insert a third party between you and your users.

  Serve top-tier clients; they are our partners in quality improvement and innovation. If you let mediocre companies that only want cheap, low-quality products become your clients, you will never succeed. Address user complaints promptly; don't ignore or delay them.

  Every product has its lifespan. After reaching a certain level, if there's no technological innovation or brand enhancement, it will be eliminated. Never be complacent with existing products; there's always room for improvement. To ensure your efforts bear fruit, you must always keep up with the times and strive for perfection. Neglecting the final 1% of effort can ruin everything. Always be optimistic, strong, and grateful.

  11. We must be cautious and restrained in everything we do, avoiding creating an invisible and deadly trap for ourselves.

  12. Proceed cautiously, taking one step at a time. Be bold but steady, constantly summarizing experience, persisting in what is right, and correcting mistakes quickly. Don't let small mistakes become big ones.

  13. The Party commands the gun, not the gun the Party. This is the principle of the Chinese Communist Party's military and the company's policy. However, some technical personnel have become arrogant and unmanageable.

  14. Only by weathering storms and facing challenges can one become mature and experienced. The current difficulties test leaders and employees alike: will we push forward or retreat? We must enhance our bottom-line thinking, plan ahead, prevent problems before they arise, dare to struggle, dare to confront difficulties, and improve our ability to respond to risks and challenges. We must uphold the spirit of struggle against erroneous ideologies and resolutely resist their erosion.

  15. The company must strive for independence and self-confidence, providing a promising future for employees who want to work here. Employees must truly accept the company's mission and uphold its culture and spirit. The organization cannot be sustained by interests alone; such organizations lack cohesion. Excessive reliance on incentives will lead to collapse. We must learn from the cohesion of the Red Army to build a lasting foundation.

  16. A significant amount of time is consumed by various meetings.

  Excessive, redundant, and form-over-substance meetings consume significant time and energy, hindering efficient work.

  Some people believe in the power of meetings, considering them the primary work method and a panacea for progress and implementation. Before starting work, they hold a mobilization meeting; when encountering obstacles, they hold a progress meeting; after completion, they hold a summary and commendation meeting.

  Some leaders use meetings to shirk responsibility, claiming that they are attentive because they hold timely meetings and responsible because they give clear instructions. This is typical formalism, laziness, and inaction.

  Meetings are meant to solve problems. Instead of holding ineffective meetings, it's better to go directly to the grassroots level to hold coordination and supervision meetings, deploying work on-site. Direct communication and face-to-face guidance ensure effective implementation.

  An economist said: People who don't want to do anything always rely on meetings. Meetings are gatherings of important people who can't do anything alone but decide to do nothing together.

  17. Employee stock ownership should be approached cautiously. Don't blindly believe the hype about company listings and universal stock ownership. Employees rely on salaries for their livelihood and lack the cash to buy company shares. Borrowing to buy shares burdens them with debt. If the company performs poorly or yields no returns, it will cause significant harm. Employee stock ownership should never be a means to prevent employees from leaving; some companies use it for this purpose. We must be clear-headed!

  18. Farmers say: If a person misses the planting season, the land will miss a year's harvest. Similarly, plans must be implemented; otherwise, losing a customer is a lifetime loss, not just a year. They will never use your product again. This is a missed opportunity that will not come again!

  Products with the Riyue brand and those available for immediate delivery or shipment upon payment should be prioritized; those manufactured for others under OEM should be given secondary priority. The order must not be reversed! Commercial acceptance drafts from banks cannot be accepted, nor can bank acceptance drafts exceeding six months, as this is like painting a pie to satisfy hunger. It will ruin the company!

  19. Since ancient times, you get what you pay for; good quality goods are not cheap, and cheap goods are not good. As long as the product quality is good and the brand is strong, people are still willing to pay a high price, just like when we buy home appliances. Riyue product quality must be solid, and the Riyue brand must be strong.

  20. Why would soldiers risk their lives under fire, following their officers into the thick of battle? It's not because their pay is exceptionally high, but because their unit has established a culture of discipline. Iron discipline, fighting spirit, and military demeanor are not to be defied. This is why I emphasize the importance of Riyue culture; Riyue culture is a military culture, emphasizing iron discipline, fighting spirit, and military demeanor.

  21. Half the pleasure of doing something well lies in receiving praise from others. An individual working overtime receives extra overtime pay, but every bit of praise is as important as overtime pay; praise comes first, criticism later.

  22. For the same material, we should maintain at least 2-3 suppliers. Otherwise, if there is a strike or a supplier tries to extort high prices, it will be troublesome.

  23. Running a business requires maintaining a clear head, being pragmatic, seizing opportunities, and working within one's means. We must build Riyue solidly, avoiding inflated egos, flattery, blind investment, and reckless ventures that burden the company. Many businesses fail because of blind gambling and reckless ventures that overwhelm them.

  Some companies fail not because of external factors, but because of their own actions. The most common reason is that they abandon their independent position due to high costs leading to uncompetitive prices.

  24. In the internet age, we should keep the company small and the customers large. We should sell both products and services, transforming advertising and marketing into online marketing and word-of-mouth marketing. We don't seek to be the biggest, but the best (Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 11, Riyue Outline).

  25. Do what needs to be done now, and deal with the future later. Keep pushing forward; there's always a way. There's no insurmountable obstacle. If Tang Monk had been too pessimistic about his journey, he wouldn't have gone to the West to obtain scriptures; the Chinese revolution, fraught with difficulties, was ultimately successful! The key lies in faith and confidence. As long as we remain steadfast in the Riyue path, believe in Riyue culture, and stay focused, Riyue's success is just around the corner!

  26. Throughout history, the greatest companies have been able to turn disadvantages into advantages. A leader, with a thousand assistants, builds a management team and company culture that surpasses others' vision, thinking with the wisdom of a sage and acting with the strength of many, achieving outstanding results.

  Military strategies are not fixed, and water has no constant form. To run a business, one must anticipate potential changes in the market before competitors and adapt accordingly to ensure success.

  27. Riyue's sovereignty and security must always be placed first.

  28. Maintain confidentiality with utmost care and meticulousness, remaining loyal and discreet. (See Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 216, Riyue Security and Confidentiality System) Those skilled in confidentiality are undetectable, even under scrutiny, thus gaining an advantage in market competition.

  29. Increase production, practice frugality, and manage resources efficiently (Riyue's Path, page 11, Riyue Outline). Currently, there is significant waste of water, electricity, and materials; identify and address these issues.

  30. Integrate technology, industry, and trade, seeking stability in development and development in stability. This was the founding principle and policy I mentioned when I first established Riyue. (See Riyue's Path, Volume 2, page 11, Riyue Outline).

  Recently, President Xi Jinping, when discussing the development of China's economy, repeatedly emphasized: steady progress, promoting stability through progress.

  Today, this serves as the theme for celebrating Riyue's 30th anniversary.

  Thank you!
